Fi Job

Hi!
I read once in this forum that if you call to the schools and ask for someone for instructor vacancies and try to arrange an appoinment almost for sure you will have a job opportunity. Well, I called many of them and in every call they said to me "sorry, we don't have any instructor vacancies"
At the beginning I thought it was fine, but now in every call I feel that is worthless and that I'm doing this for nothing.
Any ideas?
Cheers!

Go to the airfields in person, dressed to impress with a smart CV in your hand, and keep pestering the schools you really want to work for. They will have a vacancy eventually, you need to be familiar to them when they do.

Do you have any friends that are instructors? perhaps you could get a recommendation.

Or, go to the place you did your FI course, asking them for a job or a good letter of recommendation.

How long have you been qualified and how many instructional hours have you flown?

FI vacancy

I know of somewhere that has an upcoming vacancy for a full-time FI due to the incumbent getting a charter/taxi job, starting around the end of Jan/early Feb.
PM me for their contact details if you're interested.

Actually I'm going tomorrow for a trip to see some aerodromes, give my cv... All well dressed of course, and smiling as much as I can.

About my experience... This is one problem. I don't have any instructional hours... Yet. I've just finished the course.

I have a friend working in biggin hill, and I went there once, but they told me that near London is really complicated, even more because Cabair, closed so there is experienced instructors in the area...

About the reference letter, my instructor was really happy with my results, and he said to me he was about to do one reference letter, but I'm still waiting. I don't want to push him, I'm sure it will come!

About the road trip... I'm in London living right now, so which heading would you choose to see some schools?????

Thanks in advance!!!

I know that I have to go in person, but I'm trying to contact them, try to make an appoinment, but I didn't have the chance.

About any friend, I have one in biggin hill. Even I went once to visit him and them school, but he told me that right now is really difficult. Cabair closed recently and there's a lot of experienced instructors in the area, I should go away from London.

About where I did the course is impossible to work there, although they were really happy with me. Mi instructor told that he was about to do a reference letter to me, but I wont push him, I know it will come.

About my instructional experience... I finished a couple of months ago the instructor course, so is nothing, but I'm sure it will grown soon!

I'm going for a trip today today... I'm in london right now,so which heading would you choose to visit some schools?

Thanks!

Are you willing to move away from London? Getting away from somewhere you've already found out is saturated with ex-cabair instructors will be a good start. When I was looking, quite a lot of the vacancies were in the north rather than the south, but you never know what might come up.

I downloaded the list of registered training organisations from the CAA website, and called a fair number of these asking to book an appointment to discuss instrucor vacancies. I found this approach to be very sucessful, and any schools which may have had vacancies coming up were happy for me to come in and chat.

Having an appointment is obviously going to work out better, as you are going to be talking to the right person who has the power to make the decision.

RTN11, I really appreciate your link but I had this list already! I called many of this list but as I said, I don't have at least the opportunity to arrange an appoinment...
I contact where mrmum said there is an upcoming vacancie and I sent my cv! Wish me luck!

A - please take this in the way it is meant, as friendly advice, but is your CV written like your posts on here? If so, I'd really recommend getting a friend to work on the grammar and spelling if you want interviews.

Of course I'm concerning about your comment. You're completely right. I'm sorry and I will work more in my grammar.
