Leicestershire FIC

Afternoon all,

Just wondering whether anyone knows of a reputable place to do an FI course in leicestershire.

Also, and you can be honest, what do you think my job chances, for an FI post, are in the current market being a 21 year old CPL, SE/ME IR, FI(R) with 211 hours (at present).

Do you think it is worth me dipping further into the red in order to keep myself current and also gain a qualification (which I highly respect) and valuable flying experience?

Many thanks
Nick C

FIC wise I would reccommend Kevin Rowell at Advanced Flight Training at Sherburn. Top bloke. Top course.

However you won't make much money working as an FI. However it will keep you current and improve you flying skills.

Initially I would get a monday to friday job at tescos or what ever - so thats the bills covered.

Then try and land an FI job for Saturdays and Sundays. Once you've got you foot in the door you will be in the know should a full time job become available etc

Thanks for the reply,

I am working full time for the NHS at the moment to cover my bills and the job is open to me till march.

thanks again for the advice

What's wrong with LAC? On-Track at Wellesbourne will be able to teach you part-time.

Hi Nick14.#

Not only an FIC at LAC but also a resident FIE at the end of the course, if NV is still current.

Hard graft but worth it. Plenty of Clubs/Schools around the Midlands(...AND airlines at EMA !)

Go for it......... and good luck.

btw, Mickey, how long has Sherburn been in Leicestershire ?
Far enough away to be foreign !!

Glad you don't test my eyes !! ;)

I did the Applied Instrument Instructor course at Leciester - top quality and I learned so much in that 5 hours flying on the course and also in the Skills Test I was quite embarrassed. As for value for money I can't fault it!

I will definitely be going back there for the Aeros Instructor course.
