MCC before Instructors???

Hi there, I am planning on converting my Icao CPL/IR to a JAA and then get my instructors. What I was wondering is do I need to do my mcc first or just go for the instructors course and start working before I do it.

Thank you

No reason to do your MCC first. It is a requirement for employment in a multi crew environment so will not be required for instructing. If I was you I would probably go for your instructor rating first and begin to get some money comming in.

Best of luck with it

There's an MCC running somewhere practically every week. If you were sneaky you could put it on your CV. If you never got an airline interview you would have saved 3000 pounds, if you did get an airline interview you could then go and do it.

That would be a foolish game to play. From recent experience of 2 or 3 airline interviews, I was given maximum 5 days notice of the interview date. There was no conceivable way of getting an MCC done in that period of time.

Your going to look like a complete prat(and a liar!) having to confess "ah well...um....i dont actually have my mcc yet, even though it says so on my cv"!!

You will blow your chances clean out of the water and certainly wont be asked back.

Best advice - get it done! If your going for the airlines then you need to do it. Get the ticks in the boxes and you wont have to worry about it.
