PA28 Fuel burn rate
 
Hi all,

Just a quick one, does anyone have the figures on burn rate per hour for the PA28 140/161.

Looked everywhere!

Hi there,

Fuel Consumption for a PA28 161:8

Performance Cruise:

75% Power - 2450 RPM - 10 USgal/hr

Economy Cruise:

65% Power - 2350 RPM - 8.8 USgal/hr
55% Power - 2200 RPM - 7.7 USgal/hr

Max Endurance:

6.5 hrs (55% power, 2150 RPM at sea level)

In the Arrow POH, it is given on the "Cruie Performance - Range" chart. I suppose it would be the same in the other POH.

For the -161, we use 36 litres/ph.

That sounds about right. I always used to use 34l/per hour for a 161 Cherokee and 36l/per hour for a 181 Archer. Have found that these figure are a touch on the conservative side which is always nice when doing your fuel planning.
