MPL

MPL is coming in SE Asia.
Some projects are flourishing. But at the end IFALPA begins to react (It is time!) and when you study the syllabus and look to the projects, questions are coming; where are the savings? (The running cost of Full Flight Simulator is around twice the cost of the DA 42), and what about the initial investment? Which school can offer one?
The Jar theoretical knowledge has melt and replaced by a varnish. Not everything is negative in the MPL: More simulator and the Threat Error Management are interesting developments, but to include the TEM within a transition course made on a Generic JET/MCC FNPT II, topping the current JAR syllabus is a better solution.(Several schools have already taken such an orientation). More simulator in the syllabus can also be implemented...
What I have noticed is that the American Training Industry which was stalling following the combination of the JAR Licence and of September 11, is very active on the MPL. They have found a new way for recovery:
Maybe the MPL standard is in fact the old FAA one to which a layer of Threat Error Management (Issued by the Texas University) has been added?
We should be more active in defending the JAR standard against this assault.
