IMC take off minima?
 

Does anyone know what is the IMC rating minima is for landing?? I realise its 1800m for take off, but does this apply to landing?

(c) the holder shall not fly:
(i) on a special VFR flight in a control zone in a flight visibility of less than 3 km;
(ii) when the aeroplane is taking off or landing at any place if the flight visibility
below cloud is less than 1800 metres.

Its only 800m with an IR in any case

(the light aircraft IR that is - in a light aircraft environment)

No distinction between SPA and MPA.

Private, as opposed to public transport, no legal minima. What's prudent ... ? Well, you decide.

Public transport take-off minima for single-engine aeroplanes are 1000 ft cloud ceiling and 1800 m RVR.

You may feel that the public-transport take-off minima for SE aeroplanes sit rather ill at ease alongside the landing minima!

I'm pretty sure that's not right - I think there's an 800m limit for single-pilot ops. Reference would be AIP AD 1.1.2 - "Aerodrome Operating Minima" - but since that's one of the few chapters of the AIP that's not on-line, and I'm not at work so I can't check the paper copy, I can't confirm that right now and I may be wrong.

Islander2 is correct. AIP 1.1.2 para 3.4.3 says that for non PT operations the minima shall be calculated according to the procedures of the State of Registry of the aircraft. Elsewhere (Para 4.1) it states the PT minima and then adds for all takeoffs the minima should be adequate to ensure a high probabiblity of a successful forced landing should the engine fail after takeoff.

You are correct about the 800m min RVR it applies to precision approaches only, para 4.4.1 refers
