RVSM Pilot Certificate FAA

Hello Fellow Aviators,

Does any body has any info on getting a RVSM Pilot certificate cheap. Most online schools such as King & Digiflite are a Rip-off $199.

As an Instructor taught the course to lots of crews now I need one myself. Please send info to "[email protected]"

THanks a Bunch

The easiest way is to have the company authorise someone else to do you an in-house course. All it takes is a letter on headed notepaper saying that "X" is now approved to give training in RVSM procedures (assuming they have their one current of course!), and they can do you an hour in the pub discussing it and sign you a similar letter. Then you can return the favour at a later date.
The FAA seem quite happy with that, and the CAA have been remarkably sensible and see it as a one-off course that doesn't expire.
Of course I may not be taking it seriously enough and will one day forget how to check that the altimeters agree:eek:
