US FAA endorsements
Hello,
there must be a number of US CFIs operating outside the US and we all do BFRs etc. Interesting question arose recently in my neck of the woods. To add a 'high performance' (> 200 hp) endorsement to an FAA licence holder, must you be an FAA authorised CFI or can any 'authorized' instructor put the sign-off in the log book, e.g. a UK instructor? The FAA regs. (61.31) refer to an 'authorised instructor', which, of course we all are, but under our own jurisdictions. Interested to hear from anyone. regs, Andrew |

(b) A flight instructor described in paragraph (a) of this section is only authorized to give endorsements to show training given. In other words: foreign flight instructors can give you training time, but not endorse you in any way for anything... regards Patrick |
