EASA TRI Course, UK Licence

Hi All,

Posting this as I was hoping someone might be able to help me. I hold a UK issued EASA ATPL(A) and am currently flying the B747-400. Since earlier in the year Iíve been working towards self sponsoring my B747-400 TRI qualification.

A friend of mine runs a Non UK based EASA approved ATO and I have already completed the 25 hour teaching and learning part of the qualification. I was hoping to complete the rest of the course by the end of the year but have been busy with other things.

My question is, with Brexit looming and the UK subsequently leaving EASA, will that scupper my plans? (Iím not sure if there is a two year grace period after January where any training completed at an EASA ATO which was certified to conduct the training before January 1st 2021 would still be honoured by the UK CAA post Brexit).

Any assistance would be very much appreciated.

Hi Richard

Our CAA inspector for our ATO (we run TRI courses) says they will accept EASA licences and probably training courses.

Thanks! Well I was hoping that if I get a Certificate of Enrolment from the ATO prior to January 1st then maybe the UK CAA will still recognise the Course Completion Certificate if I finish the course after 1st January.
