Flying Instructors & Examiners A place for instructors to communicate with one another because some of them get a bit tired of the attitude that instructing is the lowest form of aviation, as seems to prevail on some of the other forums!

Fi 945 list

Any one know if there is a CAA list online of instructors with fcl 945 endorcement.simiialar to the examiners list,a collègue is doubting a signature.
Saying the name is not on the CAA list?

Must it be an examiners signature.or the fcl 945 instructor who completed the biannual hour?

Are NPPL/national different?

163 1:28s different!

There is no list of instructors holding FCL.945 privileges as all new instructors have it on there licence and older instructors can either apply to have it put on or it will be done when the licence is reissued. As long as the instructor did the refresher training of at least 1 hour and the person has fulfilled all the requirements of FCL.740 then they can sign the licence and complete the paperwork. If the 1 hour flight was undertaken by a different instructor then an examiner must sign the licence and paperwork.

Not strictly true because at the time FCL.945 was published the requirement for the one hour dual also changed and can now be any number of flights with any number of instructors.
To comply with FCL.945 the FI signing the revalidation would have to have completed the last training flight making up the one hour total.
If anyone is in doubt, FCL.945 will be written into the Instructors licence so easy to confirm. Information sheet https://www.ontrackaviation.com/FCL945_info_sheet.pdf

Yes! FCL.945 is EASA not National.

THANKS with reference to national licenses i've assumed it has to be signed by any Examiner,GR, Reval,or by the instructor with fcl945 (completing the dual) as with EASA,
The log book entry i assume does not need reference to FCL 740, but ive have seen this and FI'S substitute this for cap804
Iam still not really sure ;-
what is required to be written in the log book as long as it verifies dual with a F/I qualified on type
I was aware of the license page indorsement and the information sheet but ,diplomacy is needed to insure someone is not been accused of fraudulently signing a license ,which i doubt has happened, but a petty attack on the F/IS qualification.

All that is required is a signature from the Instructor in accordance with AMC1.FCL.050

(4) instruction time: a summary of all time logged by an applicant for a licence or rating as flight instruction, instrument flight instruction, instrument ground time, etc., may be logged if certified by the appropriately rated or authorised instructor from whom it was received;

Yes, FCL.740.A Revalidation of class and type ratings – aeroplanes
(b) Revalidation of single-pilot single-engine class ratings.
(1) Single-engine piston aeroplane class ratings and TMG class ratings. For the revalidation of single-pilot single- engine piston aeroplane class ratings or TMG class ratings, the applicants shall:
(i) within the 3 months preceding the expiry date of the rating, pass a proficiency check in the relevant class in accordance with Appendix 9 to this Part with an examiner; or
(ii) within the 12 months preceding the expiry date of the rating, complete 12 hours of flight time in the relevant class, including:
— 6 hours as PIC,
— 12 take-offs and 12 landings, and
refresher training of at least 1 hour of total flight time with a flight instructor (FI) or a class rating instructor (CRI). Applicants shall be exempted from this refresher training if they have passed a class or type rating proficiency check, skill test or assessment of competence in any other class or type of aeroplane.
No specification of the same instructor or any minimum number of flights!

There is absolutely no point in referencing CAP804 which is an obsolete document that, in any case, was never a regulatory reference.
