Flying Instructors & Examiners A place for instructors to communicate with one another because some of them get a bit tired of the attitude that instructing is the lowest form of aviation, as seems to prevail on some of the other forums!

GR examiner

So i need to renew my GR privileges as i won't be able to renew full flight examiner privileges for some time.
Will GR fee remain the same amount to CAA as we will soon have the online system where candidates or flying school will pay £10.
I don't want to pay full amount only to find in a few months there was no need as the online system will take care of costs.
As most schools charge enough for exam to cover CAA fees and time spent with candidate. We currently charge £20 per exam. CAA are now going to be taking half of that unless we increase our costs.
Or perhaps the GR fee will be less?

I thought the GR was free if you paid the F/E fee. If you extend the F/E privileges that would apply to the GR as well if they are tied together.
The electronic exams are on hold for at least 6 months.

I can't see me getting the FE part done for the next six months, it ran out last November. Just need the GR.
Got the forms will just pay up and be done with.
