CPL to ATPL CAA Processing Time

Hi Guys,

Anyone have a rough estimate on the processing time for a CPL to ATPL with the CAA?

I know they mention they aim for 10 working days but to expect a little longer due to high volumes of applications.

Currently 20 working days. Also expect it to be delayed further if the paperwork is perfect. They use non-complaint paperwork to push it to the back of the queue again, which starts the SLA again!

21 days

Just got mine back. 21 working days after I dropped the paperwork off at Gatwick. I got them to check the paperwork was all there which is an option if you pay for it. You cannot of course get an ATPL done on fast track/same day.

Beware - if you make any error in an application or have to send in additional information at their request, you go back to the back of the queue, there is no pending tray.

IMO, there can be no justification for this. If the waiting time is a ridiculous 20 odd working days from first submission, the clock should start counting down from here. Its no wonder people are disillusioned by the CAA when they have geniuses who come up with these rules.

Ridiculous indeed. 50 working days for licensing action and still waiting here...
