Boeing 737-800NG Landing Gear Testing
 

Hello,

Does anybody know how Boeing test the landing gear for the 737-800NG?

How do they make sure it can withstand impact, each time the wheels are needed?

Is this a generic question about landing gear (which I can probably answer, or can probably a few others here) or very specifically about the B738?

Well, I was wondering how is the landing gear for the Boeing 737-800 tested? Like, how much can it take before it snaps or collapses?

But if you could answer how landing gear's are tested, what they can withstand, and what Boeing does to make them safe - then that would be perfect!

Not sure how boeing do it but on the Series of programs on the A380 they showed a gear leg test.

Basically put a leg on rams, spun up the wheels and fired the rams so the tyres hit the ground with a similar force to landing at more than max weight (cannot remember the figures but sense would say that they tested it beyond its capabilities)

Luckily no one hurt but some big dents in egos.
