The Cold War Years: Flight Testing at Boscombe Down

Hello,

I'm after a little help. I'd love a copy of this book:

The Cold War Years: Flight Testing at Boscombe Down, Tim Mason

But as it's so long out of print, the internet prices are exorbitant (£185 for a used copy on Amazon).

In particular there is one picture contained therein that I'm after to assist with a family history project. Can anyone who owns a copy help? I'm really after someone who can scan the relevant picture. I'm quite happy to do the scan myself and return the book, covering all expenses (+ a tip!) if that would help.

Many thanks,

VP.

Have you tried your local library. While they won't have it in they will be able to get it via inter library loan. The British Library has a "depositry" some up in South Yorkshire somewhere that keeps copies of ALL books published in UK. They will be able to supply. of course it will take a couple of weeks and cost you but it should appear.

I found it here for 35 pounds
Hikoki Publications

The Hikoki link is old. I have spoken to the new owners of Hikoki, they are thinking of a reprint, but not for 12 months or so.

The library suggestion is welcome. I'm afraid I come from the Amazon.co.uk generation and haven't used a library in many years - but I'm off there now.

Cheers John,

Vox, I have a copy of this book (and damn' fine it is too :ok: ), but unfortunately I don't currently have a working scanner.

However, I'd be more than happy to take as good a digital photo as I can manage and email it to you (or upload it and send you a link).

What's the picture?

Vox I have a copy and a scanner and happy to oblige. Let me know what you want.

Still expensive, but a lot less than £185.00 on ABEBooks.

For info Bedford Central Library has a copy. Your local one should be able to request it from them.

Dave W, do you have an ISBN for the book please.
Regards, Den.

No problem - it's ISBN 1 902109 11 2

denachtenmai, hoodie got in first with the ISBN, which I can confirm is the number printed in the copy I have.

For what it's worth, there seems to be another ISBN sometimes quoted - which is "ISBN-13: 978-1902109114". I've no idea what the difference between the two is, unless there has been a softcover edition?

Off thread, but West Yorkshire actually. Large number of low rise former munitions factory buildings and two tower blocks, the older of which (IIRC) had a more problematic roof. Well, even if it felt like it, I did not spend all my time at Catterick and Leeming!

Just purchased a copy from Crecy, the owners of Hikokai £34.95 plus £5.17 postage. Only took a couple of days to arrive

Does not say it was a re-print
