vorticey,

It has happened in the Oz military.

As far as I am aware, no civil flight manual permits aerobatics and no manufacturer would permit it. The latter is important because it means that the manufacturer would not accept any liability for any subsequent component failures, consequential or otherwise.

All normal flight insurance would be voided, as would any personal insurance.

Aerobatics are regulated for aeroplanes (see CAO 40.0) but the absence of a parallel provision for helicopters means that they are not authorised.

Lastly, from personal experience, you would need to know exactly what was going to happen because there are a !!!!!load of unexpected consequences in regard to flight path management, emergency procedures, stability & control, engine behaviour and transmission limitations.
