ETPS STANDARDS
 

I've heard a story that, in recent years, ETPS has lowered its acceptance and graduation standards! Any comments?

Highly unlikely, and certainly not apparent.

I'M SURE THE 2 GUYS CHOPPED FROM THE 1999 COURSE WOULD LOVE TO DISAGREE WITH YOU!!!! :eek:

Very unlikely.

What I know it is doing, is taking students for short specialist courses, and they also offer a modular FTE course for BDN staff, done over several years. This is a different kettle of fish to the full 1-year bonanza, and may have led to some misleading rumours.

Dear helpful one. The story you have heard is, like most good stories, complete fiction.

The ETPS graduate course remains one of the most demanding aviation based courses in existence and of its continued high standards you can be assured. Of course, there's only one way to find out for sure...

Wish I could!!!

Only two thousand hours, on four different types of rotary wing aircraft, gained over eight years of flying, with an aviation based background since leaving school.

But can't apply as I am not commisioned!!!

And I'm not the only one wishing to take this career path from the AAC, who are being stopped because of which badge they wear!!!

I don't know that much about the army, but surely there's a way around that Murph? Can you not talk to your poster about a commission for that purpose? Or even change service, neither the RAF nor Navy seem to have a huge surplus of junior officer helicopter pilots that they couldn't use another. There was an army chap on my course who came from the ranks, got a commission, then did ETPS (he'd just made Major last I saw him).
