Teac Mission Data Recorder

Anyone have hands on knowledge of the TEAC MDR-80 Solid State Video & Data recorder - trying to find out suitability for light a/c project

Anything in particular you want to know? We have been looking at one, and will almost certainly be going to use one, to replace the TEAC V-80-AB-F Hi-8 VTR (form, fit and function replacement, apparently). I haven't had too much to with it, but I know a man who has.

I know its heavier than the Hi-8 VTR, but can record for longer. We're only using it for video, not data as well. It does have the advantage (for us) of being useable in a PC for video replay, which removes the need for an expensive professional monitor, 'cos our FLIR uses the full screen width, and when replayed on a normal TV about 5% to 7% of the picture falls of the edge (Overscan - all CRT TVs do this).

E-mail or PM if you prefer, I'll see what I can dig up.
