Data Package Valuation
I've been searching for data related to the pricing of data packages from OEMs or suppliers to Simulator Manufacturers. I know several of the suppliers like a honeywell and airbus sell their data but the price is quite unclear. Does anyone know of any resource out there which would have information about how the data packages are priced for a hydrualic/fly-by-wire flight control system?

i suggest that the data packages from OEM airframe manufacturers are pretty well locked up by agreement between the OEM and the larger sim manufacturers like CAE, FlightSafety, Thales and the like.
There are ways to get the data, but you'd have to get the aircraft and instrument it, fly it and then analyze the data yourself. |

It's market driven.
No surprise, it is basically a number negotiated between a happy seller and a willing buyer. It all depends on the popularity of the product.
Doing a third party aircraft instrumentation, data gathering and reduction exercise is not particularly difficult today and has been done in a number of cases where the OEM was not willing to sell the data at a reasonable price. |

I suggest instrumenting and flight testing the aircraft yourself. You'll get better quality data and will be able to tailor the maneuvers to suit your specific needs.
Manufacturer data is highly overrated. |
