ETPS for civil types
Hello!
I was wondering if you guys know of how many civilian pilots go through the graduate fixed wing course at ETPS each year on average? What are the requirements for civilian pilots if they have no fast jet experience? Any ideas of the cost for a company to put one of its pilots through that course? Thank you in advance. |
On average, zero. The only civilian PILOT I am aware of going through the full graduate course in recent(ish) years was Claude Nicollier, the ESA/NASA astronaut.
However, there have been a number of civilian pilots attending shorter courses. You should have a look at the ETPS website for more information. As for costs, I would assume the high side of 5 figure numbers (or even low 6) |

TS,
Thanks for that info. Were you thinking sterling, euro or dollars? From the looks of Gregg's link, I assume sterling. Performance and Flying Qualities Professional Course fixed and rotary wing (26 weeks) $220,000/eng $441,000/pilot  The full test pilot 51 week course doesn't even have a price... Test Pilot/Flight Test Engineer Professional Course Fixed and rotary wing. (51 weeks) Cost (Call for Request for Proposal) |
From the looks of Gregg's link, I assume sterling. |
Lutefisk, I was comparing the cost of the equivalent US program. If the US 'light" version costs upwards of $400,000, then the only currency ETPS charges high 5 figures in, is sterling. Errr....make that gold sterling;-)
