Test (Technical Check) Flights under EASA

Has JAR or EASA set requirements for Technical Check Flights, also known as Customer Acceptance or Engineering Check Flights and where are these to be found?
Are these flights, mandated by the aircraft manufacturer upon delivery or after some maintenance schedule, done by "ordinary" pilots or is there a requirement for trained pilots or even for test pilots to perform said flights?

Thanx for all infos :ok:

I've seen nothing specific. For info I wrote my company acceptance schedule for the S92 based on the Sikorsky Flight Check Procedures Manual, but it is purely a company document. As far as UK CAA is concerned, the EASA (or FAA) C of A is all that is required for a new aircraft. There will be requirements for continued airworthiness testing, but again these will be company procedures (although sensibly based on Flight Manual or FCP data) rather than "official" documents, as the onus has moved from the Authorities to the Operator. I've written schedules based on the (now withdrawn) UK C of A test schedules where they exist.

Forgot to say, the pilot is designated by the operator and should obviously be experienced enough to know when things are amiss, but there are no specific qualifications mandated by JAA/EASA.

Thank you steve_oc

Though it relates to rotary wing I guess your writing also applies to fixed wing ops. I think in this case that it is a matter of the NAA to decide if they want to implement some rules or not.
Another requirement might also be dictated by the aircraft manufacturer as I've seen for a few.

Anybody else with more inputs?

Take a look at UK CAA BCAR Section B3-5 (CAP 554) on requirements for Flight Tests to renew C of A.
