Ops and dispatch associations

On another thread no sig kindly provided a web site address enabling me to look up some info on flight ops training.

I was looking at the list of countires in Europe that have an association for Flight Ops officers/Dispatch. Croatia have one, Iceland has one, the French have one.

:( No sign of us Brits tho!

Britain is not exactly the backwater of aviation and it amazes me that we seem to be one of the few countrys around the world where we have no representation!
(And I don't mean in a union type way)

Why is that? Maybe it's time us Guys in th UK started making those around us realise we do exist and have an important and PROFESSIONAL part to play within the industry.

We did have one, The British Guild Of Flight Operations Officers (BGFOO) sadly seems to have died a death over the years. Was active until the early 1990's.
