For anyone who works on the apron: Do you ever engage, in real life or online, with chemtrail loons believers? Do they accuse you of loading the secret chemtrail fluid that's made in secret factories and brought to the airport in secret trucks and carried by the plane in a secret tank and released by the pilots with a secret button, none of which secrets have ever been revealed even on their deathbeds by any of the hundreds of thousands of people who would have to be in on the plot? The whole thing is so obviously absurd that I want to have difficulty in believing that anyone falls for it, but I know people IRL who live near to me and post about it every time we get a few contrails, so it's definitely "a thing", and apparently quite pervasive too.

Surely those who work on the apron and load the fluid will have had their relevant senses neutralised and so be blissfully unaware! 🤣

Well, anyone who knows anything is aware that "Adblue" that is now mandatory to put in a separate tank of modern diesels can be nothing other than ground based chemtrail fluid. :E

I deal with the question exactly it same way as flat-earthers. I wink and say "It sounds like we both know what the truth is, but we can't talk about it because... they're listening 🤫"

I used to engage them quite seriously until I realised they're all as mad as a box of frogs!
It doesn't matter how many facts and logical explanations you throw at them eventually they either block you or accuse you of being a paid schill for 'them'.
Same with flat earthers and moon landing deniers.

"Safe and effective" - that used to be quoted as fact quite a lot I seem to remember ! ;-)

Perhaps it would be more appropriate to:
A) acknowledge that airborne chemical dispersal is a thing
B) inform the public that airline/ordinary commercial operations are not involved

To be ignorant of reality whilst castigating more tuned-in (if paranoid-inadequately informed) folk is some kind of gaslighting stupid. Such arguably is not in the best long-term interest of the professional pilot (and aviation) community.

I don’t think the chemtrail fraternity are worried about cloud seeding/crop spraying etc, any more than the UFO true believers are interested in rational explanations for their fuzzy videos.

They spend their time being fed a constant stream of conspiracy rubbish on their social media feeds that consolidates their thinking. Normal, rational people are just sheeple who don’t know what they know.
In my experience it’s largely a waste of time to try and reason with them.

Agreed. I have a friend who is quite normal most of the time, but can suddenly interrupt the on-going conversation, pointing up at the sky and saying disgustedly, "Look, they're at it again!"

Obviously, it must be put in the Jet A-1 bowser as an additive for aircraft fuel. But only for high flying aircraft because the first few hundred feet are taken care of by road vehicles.

Don't tell them, but .....

The chemtrail selector switches have been removed from cockpits as pilots didn't want the responsibility/likelihood of forgetting selections. Chemtrails are now selected automatically via an algorithm when the ac is initialised via ACARS. The main benefit of this is that chemtrail deployment can be targeted much more accurately and with less waste than before (it's expensive stuff).

Back in the day, the chemtrail ops were carried out by the Flight Engineer.
The pilots were considered unable to understand the deployment instructions.

Well, those switches marked “ON/OFF” can be quite tricky.

It must be quite the substance to emerge from the combustion process with enough chemical potential energy to react with the clouds (in the clear sky that tends to accompany chemtrail sightings) and/or modify people's brains. Particularly at a dilution of ~200 litres in a visible 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 litres of air.

Well it is highly concentrated....

The chemtrail fluid is definitely in the fuel. My mechanic friend sent me a part number for the chemtrail fluid/fuel separator. I'm guessing the chemtrail fluid cannot be burned in the engine and is dispersed through another method. It's been a while, but I looked it up and it definitely exists. I'm sure someone on this forum has worked with these before. I'll look and see if I can find it.
