Havent heard from ND since beginning of the year - allthough i believe that RJ has - last i heard from him he was considering whether or not to move to Germany when Brittania op's re-locate there......

Nah your never going to be safe mate - just you watch out, once i've finished my Sponsorship might be chasing a job on A330's with your lot and have a nice easy life like you !!!!! it will make a change from the likes of JER and GUR being fogged out and the French beeing on strike...

Keep in touch mate - it's great to hear from you....

Fiction....

yep i know that Whispering giant is the nickname of the Brittania - as i've spent quite a lot of my spare time -which is'nt much !!! helping keep the last one that's potentially airworthy going...

wish we were lucky enough not to get WX prob's and ATC delay's...

oh well life would be boring then though !!!!!

Forgot to ask mate - how is your handicap now ????
have you leant to hit the ball yet ???? or do you keep getting them in bunker as your in the land of sand !!!

fred flinstone 24th September 2002 00:01

Hi Fiction,

There's a blast from the past.
Unfortunately I didnt have the brain's to move around like you, but here goes -

12 Years with Ops and crewing,

Birmingham European
Brymon European
Maersk

Not too impressive when I look at who's kicking around and the fun they've been having.

Still - for what its worth, Brymon was the best experience. A good change of scenery and a good bunch of people on the whole. (In the scheme of things a complete waste of time but thats life!)

Fiction 24th September 2002 05:14

Yes Fred,

The Brymon European thing was a complete waste of time and very emotional for all staff concerned.

What was a complete disaster from the Brymon point of view was the abandonment of LCY after all those years of pain getting the operation up and running. Initially competing with London City Airways (BM), they dropped out and Brymon carried on until the merger. Now look how successful LCY is !!!

The Brymon folks went thru it ALL again with BACE and some have now ended up on Fraggle Rock.

But that is the business we are in and presumably that is why we do it. Again I know some folks in BA who have been grinding away at the same crewing jobs for nigh on 30 years...Who has had the more fun ????

reevesyk 25th September 2002 23:32

ok,why not add something

Gill Air/Gill Airways
TNT
Flying Colours
JMC

and now

Orange and mobile phones

Help me I need Ops/Crewing again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jelly Baby Freak 28th September 2002 02:29

Sussed a few old mates out there...

peterc - Eh up me duck! Thought you'd already drunk all the beer in Burton!

fred f - would I be correct in thinking that despite 3 airlines on your list you never moved far from BHX ((Hanger 1) via Sheldon and back on airport soil again?

If we bore you, don't read the thread. Pretty simple really

Whispering Giant 31st October 2002 04:54

Yo Frosty....

Nice to see you've made your way on to the Forum at last.....
How's the apple struddle ????

With the exception of R.J and Cumulous Camble that's all of us on here now mate...

Frosty Hoar 2nd November 2002 13:32

Its good fun actually here in the fatherland, I do still miss the shaking of the portakabin in the winter, and the manner in which a DHC8 could go tech in a every day with a different defect-where is YK now anyway??;) ;)

AOG007 3rd November 2002 09:50

Frosty Hoar,

Brymon Reject? :D

It was called choice. IOM or DXB? Mmmm...... Difficult choice!

How is Hannover? How long you been over?

Anyhow, you appear to be in good humour, so I pressume life is good with yourself.

Winters in Portacabin's....... Those days are behind us all now. But they sure were fun. Plus I think the DH8's are still suffering daily with numerous defects! Nout changes, except for the staff!

Hear from you soon!

3 Off The Tee 5th November 2002 00:04

Train don't stop Cambourne Weds Colston !

Hey Frosty Hoar - how did you come up with that name? Too many late nights down @ The Bungalow I reckon !

I'll drop you a line later.

Our resident plane spotter from years gone by @ EGGD Whispering Giant will let you know where YK is. :D

Infact, he's probably just about licensed to come & pick AOG007 & me up from the sandpit to come & visit you for some Oktoberfest left overs ??

Cheers 3 Off The Tee

Frosty Hoar 5th November 2002 15:29

3 of the tee

At risk of getting way of the thread here,

Just a play on words with Hoar Frost, used to appear on the DHC8s in the morning whilst u were drinking coffee up in the office.

I guess the whispering giant would no where YK is because its probably painted in a fly.be colour scheme now.....

Hope to catch up soon with yourself and NT

 :)

AOG007 5th November 2002 19:57

3 Off The Tee

Guess you were not busy last night then? :D

Whispering Giant 6th November 2002 10:38

Yo Frosty....

Dont know where YK is now - it's not in our colour scheme yet !!!! - but according to our maint plan, it's in EXT for a C-check at the end of next month as were now doing all the Dash maint for Citi Express.....
If you remember Alan ex PLH and who trained us to despatch - he's coming to join us in EXT from the 18th of Nov as a Op's assistant...

3 off the tee - yep not long now till i'll be flying. So watch out i might end up flying you back from the land of sand one day.,so watch out mate....

catch you all later - save some beer from the oktoberfest for me...

AOG007 6th November 2002 17:07

WG

Well if your guys are going to be doing DH8 maintenance for BACX, I can only pressume they are firstly paying you well, and secondly, given up on the fact that they can't do it themselves. A damn shame, seeing as a lot of the guys lost their jobs as a result of shut down in PLH, and major cut backs in BRS.

If I ever see you sat at the pointy end, when ever I fly back from the sand, I'll get off. I can clearly remember a flight from Filton many years ago, which has put me off flying with you for ever! :D

Anyway, look after AJ, I'm sure he will be fine!

AOG007

Whispering Giant 6th November 2002 18:43

AOG old buddy..

Look's like BACX are getting rid of all the Dash8's - there are 3 of them here on check at the mo - and YT and one of the other's sat on the far side of the airfield waiting to be ferried back to canada.

What do u mean it put u off - i was just showing you the full performance envelope of the PA28 !!!!
Just u wait - one day i might be flying one of your A380's if your really unlucky !!!

When are you 2 gremlins coming back from the land of the sand ??? we'll have to all meet up and catch up sometime...

I'll pass my re-gards onto AJ for you...

Frosty Hoar 6th November 2002 19:46

AOG007

Unfortunately if wg is flying the A380 you wont be able to see him sat at the pointy end until its too late, I suggest you get on to EK HR and get them to insert the clause "pork pies need not apply" when recruiting for junior jet jockeys.

best regards Frosty

PS WG Only joking, hope I dont see you sat at the front of a blue aeroplane either though

AOG007 6th November 2002 21:06

Frosty Hoar,

How true are the words you write! Could you ever Whispering Giant in command of one of those beasts! It create's worrying images in my mind!

Mind you, with that awful colour scheme on your blue one's, maybe he could help out by scratching it all off. I'm sure he could have fun with a few airbridges!!!!!!

:D

3 Off The Tee is back in blighty shortly, I don;t expect to return till at least March, but then again, why leave when the weather is so nice here! Surely you guys should come over here!

AOG007

Ooops!

Almost forgot what the thread was.......

Servisair BRS
Brymon Airways PLH
Emirates Airlines DXB

Not many, but then I have years ahead of me.

Sorry Fiction! :D
