Permit or not

A recent trip was planned over the 'stans and at one point routes MIRVI A237 USIMO over a pretty chunky finger of Kyrgyztan landmass. The route analysis shows purely Tajik and Uzbek FIRs and the Kyrgys never responded further after an initial acknowledgement of our request.

So, accepting that it's always better to have one than not, has anyone got any bright ideas how to tackle this? And particularly has anyone flown this segment and needed/not a Kyrgy permit?

Others may disagree, but IMHO a delegated / nonexistent FIR for a country does not mean you can avoid getting a permit for said country. If you overfly the landmass of a country, unless there is some special arrangement in place (Central America FIR, parts of Mali / west Africa, etc) you need a permit.
I don't know if such arrangement exists for Kyrgyzstan.... sorry :}

Yeah, that was my POV Boogle.

For that ATC route, overfly permission from Kyrgyzstan is required.

Thanks DC9-32 - that's what I would have defaulted to, but odd that they didn't respond to my request any further. Good job I didn't need it in the end!

They are known to not always receive the requests so best to use an agent as they can have different means of contacting the CAA.
