Looking to switch careers

I am an out of work aviation professional. I would appreciate some advice regarding flight dispatch schools and the chance of employment after receiving my license. Here in the states they cost $4,000-$5,000 and take 6 weeks. They offer placement advice. What I need to know are there jobs out there? My friends advise me that there are more applicants than jobs. They also say my age will be an issue.

I have 5 years as an air traffic controller and 14 years with United Airlines

I am willing to work anywhere in the world. I really really need a career or else I will begin collecting stray cats in my home. And we all know where that ends.

Cheers

But the pay is worse than a new hire FA! Although you have a supply of fresh meat....

You may be eligible for the accelerated course with your ATC experience and dependiing on what you did at UA....might save you a few $$$
