Advice please
Hi
I have recently left the Royal Air force, where I spent 9 years as an Assistant Air Traffic Controller (Flight Operations Assistant). I have worked in ATC, Flight/Base Operations, and in Area Radar at Latcc Mil (Swanwick) to name a few. Jack of all trades master of some! As expected I have no FAA or other organisations qualifications as the RAF works within its own guidelines. I was hoping someone could offer advice as to which if any qualifications I need to aquire before applying for work. Ideally a position as an ops assistant/controller or even dispatch. Thanks in advance! |

I have hired many ex RAF ATC people and I think you'll find your application for airline ops jobs will be considered on the back of your present experience. That said, you will need to do some studies- a new UK based Flt ops/dispatcher course is in the offing early in 2010, watch here and/or contact Bristol Ground school for details. You'll find a wealth of info on ops training here on Pprune- do a few searches. |
