How can Servisair just buy Aviance DUB, aernt DUB part of Aviance UK?
|
Ive been told that all Aiance contracts will go up for renewal as airlines cant be forced into new contracts with new handling agents!
Anyone have any idea about where this leaves staff? |

Interesting times!
At Cardiff, Servisair pulled out and all business went to Aviance. At Leeds, Aviance pulled out and all business went to Servisair! And now this... |
But does anyone have any idea where this leave AV staff? Will they be ransferred to SVS or replaced?

Industry news
For some time Servisair and Aviance have been holding talks to ensure they survive in the handling industry.
They have agreed not to low ball (undercut) on contracts. Servisair and AVI have lost major contracts in the last few years, to new up and coming companies The whole ground handling industry is going through its biggest ever change and the summer will see both companies exchanging contracts and deals, however, the airline will deside for themselves. I am sure with yet more new companies like Gate Aviation and Caledonian Support Services moving into major UK Airports, the smaller companies do not have the overheads ,they will join together in some way to give the airlines an even better choice and they will not lowball to do this. It has started already. The older companies need to change quickly or they will nor survive in this moving industry. The winter will see some major changes in the UK. Maybe it is a time to change I can think of 4 companies that are under threat and a new investment in the industry will be welcome. :8 |
Servisair Dublin/Aviance
Its very very early days to make judgements on contracts/jobs etc, I would suspect that the reality is that exisiting Jobs in S/Air are more secure and staff that move/transfer etc over are sucure but as to how the managment decide to roster etc etc, and how that shows as hours etc, is a different matter.
S/A staff have already been put on reduced hours, so the hope is that this would stop and the threat of reduced hours is removed. Knowing Dublin Airport i suspect that the airline contracts will be secondary to the HR minefield that needs crossed, but all said and done, good luck to the new venture and I hope that it keeps the competition on there toes!! |
Dub Servisair/Aviance
Any update anyone on any news as to whats happening?

DUB
DAVYDAVY,
Well, as DUB is in the Republic of Ireland, and not the UK, its probably irrelevant to the thread.....;) |
At the moment it appears 31 August will be last day for Aviance but possible a few airlines will jump before then.

TENDER?
I think that SOU is due for tender Aug - Oct 2009 but I have heard Swissport, Menzies etc are all under pressure as they are losing contracts.
Also on the cards I have heard about redundancies at LHR, LGW, STN, with all these Companies?:ouch: I did hear at a airport last week that DUB had two fatal accidents (AGI) is this true? One was a prop the other a jet? Normally the companies take the staff on and just change the name, or worse made redundant?:\ |
