I've a query :

Previously when we have a total SATCOM inop,(LGA and HGA)
we wud change RNP4 to 10 and delete S frm DAT/VM in item 18 of ICAO
ATC plan.Further CPDLC function is deemed disabled due total SATCOM
inop,which also meant deletion of J frm item 10

Then I was told even with SATCOM LGA/HGA failure, CPDLC function is possible using VHF as a carrier.

Can anyone please enlighten me ?
Pls tell me what is yr Company procedure when you have total SATCOM
(LGA/HGA/) failure with regards to filing ICAO ATC plan

To wrap up let me share my findings and draw a conclusion:
Total SATCOM failure means CPDLC is degraded
ICAO ATC plan Item 10 Equipment calls for J deletion
ICAO ATC plan Item 18 Other Info: RNP is downgraded to 10
DAT has S deleted
