Does anyone know of any openings in Ops at NetJets Europe? I see their web says they are constantly looking to recruit however I have yet to see anything advertised.

I am not aware of any Ops style/type jobs going. However, I believe they will be recruiting for other positions in November. Once your foot is in the door it is comon for people to move departments.

Where did you hear of this?

You would think my location would give it away.:ugh:

Maybe a bit of a silly question, but do all the NJE guys working in LIS speak Portuguese? :confused:

I trust your speaking from experience there MJ? Would be good to hear any other thoughts you have of NJE.

I did apply fot Netjets Europe `in april and been told that after the summer they will start with the recruitment.
I did contact them but have been told that now they will start in January 2007.

...So obviously recruitment in ops starts in 2007, and it seems it would be hard to get a look in before that (although I havent YET tried).
My situation is that, I'm looking to work airside, love early mornings, love the cold, love being within close proximity to any a/c. I have 3 languages, and a Bsc. I'll have a PPL, IMC, NR, Multi by Jan (yes I am being cheap= USA).
I want to work as much as possible to learn new things and get my size 10's in the door (ATPL wanabee). Looking to work for >10 months.
......here is the Q:
In this case, what is a better option, apply to those airlines that hire from within/allow ladder climbing [eg BMI]... or stick to places like Servisair whos requirments are less stringent?
I dont care about pay as its only approx. 1 year, I just want to learn and meet. I'm not a fan of CV bashing and want to focus on 2 or 3 companies.
PS: who ELSE, apart from BMI have been known to hire from within to FO positions?....sorry for being LONG! :confused:

From my understanding of NJE's setup in Lisbon, I don't think airside and being within close proximity to their aircraft comes into the equation when working in ops.

I was kind of getting the impression you were speaking from experience. Have you (or do you) have experience of working for NJE Ops?

Now a good and fast expanding operation, FAA121 Dispatch is a pref as that could lead to getting your feet under the table in Columbus!!!. Check the figures for London City, 50% of Bizav traffic is now NJE. No Columbua crews cleared for 5.5 glide slope yet.

Steve Fry looks after International Planning these days.

NJE offers Portuguese lessons to employees and there spouses so anyone can soon (unless your pants at languages like me) pick up the lingo. Everyone is required to be able to speak English in the varoius ops departments.

I have been at NJE nearly a year and still havent seen any of our aircraft. Do they even exsist? This could just be a big brother type reality TV show as far I am aware:)


I know of several would be pilots currently working at the Lisbon office hoping to be FO one day, not sure how it works though.

If people want to PM me I will try and answer specific questions to working at the Lisbon office.
