Pay for Airline Operations Controllers?
 

What kind of pay can be expected for an Ops Controller in the UK? If possible please state airline and basic pay.
Just trying to get some idea on pay in the sector...

a certain regional / low cost operator based in the west country UK pays 16000 plus 3000 shift pay.

A charter airline at MAN (ordering the 787) are paying ops controllers (non dispatch licence) 15500 basic and 120 quid a month shift pay - all before tax so the basic without o/t after tax is £1029 a month!!! £5 per shift for shift pay (12 hour shifts 2 days, 2 nights)!! How do others compare on shift pay!

A certain low cost Irish airline with loads of B737's pay's in excess of £22k for their Crew Controllers. Low cost doesn't always mean low salary. I think the people in TangoLand get paid well too :hmm:

Flagcarrier pay much better... 40.000 GBP are no problem.

I think you will find the orange mafia pay very well compared to most. Not sure what their base line is but they have quite a wide salary band

MOL's bunch get paid 32k for crew con/ops officer starting off, ops con up to 45k. The DUB based 146 operator paying about 27k for crew con and something like 35k for ops con. The ATR outfit pays 25k for crew con and ops start about 32k. The new guys with the Jamaican A319's in SNN pay decent enough for a new company with crewcon/ops assis(with exp) on bout 30k, it's under 25k for newbies and ops cons on bout 37-38k.Not bad considering SNN area a cheap place to live in comparison to DUB. No idea on shamrocks, they have their own weird and wonderful structure and i'm assuming a pay scale to match so maybe someone else could shed light on this.I hear the cargo guys with the 767/atr and herc get paid ok,late 30's but the ops assis is min wage. By the way, all prices are euro's. Multiply by 1.25 approx for USD$. Overal you're average ops-con in Ireland on a better number than their counterparts in UK. Several factors, Ireland has low income tax for low to medium salaries, its 20%. Cost of living in ireland is generally less than UK FOR THINGS THAT MATTER (the price of a pint doesn't!),Rent is less,petrol is about 30% less, if you disagree then you;ve not lived in either recently. French ops is poorly paid, close to min wage I hear except for 'Ayre Fronts' and of course Airbus. Alot of the exec jet guys around europe on around 35-40k starting and fas as I know NJ pay mid to late 30's with experience,ok considering LIS cheap town.
Seems that a few UK based exec jet operators paying 27-30k GBP which IMNBSHO is the very least that should be paid. One MAN based company (not yourtravel, it's my...) recently were looking for a flight planner for something like 14k! And they wanted experience!! Dreams...
With a bit of luck the licencing of this profession will go ahead and happen in a timely fashion and those that cut it then deserve the rewards, those that are along for the ride then it's time to take a back seat.

namely Tag at GVA and also I heard there is one at LGW and one at Farnborough who pay that. I know this from someone who works in a recruitment consultancy company who was asked to help with the process. Hear Gold Air pay ok too..

All Euro dude.. I stuck in GBP for any that weren't.. Don't waste your time aplying there though, although they have high enough staff turnover, it's a closed shop and they tend to hire from within. Money aint everything!

Cheers guys, its seems to be apparent that I'm working for the wrong airline....well, as far as pays concerned at any rate.:} As someone mentioned, pays not the only factor.....

Here in the US they start off at $26000 for multiple UK carriers. Not to bad for this neck of the woods.:ok:

So it would look like our MAN airline (the ones with the 78's on order) are WELL below the adverage - I noticed before a LPL cargo and pax airline sadly went down they were paying 19k (rose from 12K!!) for the 12 hour day/night shifts 15k and then 80 a month after tax just is not enough for an airline with 32 aircraft, and us doing etops dispatches too!

Sounds like another MAN-based airline, previously mentioned.... Unfortunately I'd be paid the same wage working at a certain golden-arched fastfood chain as a teamleader.
We're living the dream(liner) here! Who wants fries....? :}
