Dispatchers course

Hi Guys and Girls,

I need some advice...
I have been working at a FBO in South Africa for four years now, and have done / do everything from flight planning to aircraft handling to crew hotel transport. Basically I am in charge of the handling team, and know the whole handling routine, do's and don’ts etc. backwards.

Although I have four years experience in dealing with everything from Cessna 150's to BBJ's, I don’t have a FAA dispatcher licence. I am contemplating re-locating to elsewhere on the globe to broaden my horizons but am concerned that not having the dispatcher licence is going to hamper my chances of getting work.

My Questions:

1. Is it a “must” to have the dispatcher licence in order to get work in, for instance the States or Europe?
2. Do you get a separate dispatcher license for Private aircraft / FBO work?
3. Where is the best place to get a licence / what carries more weight in an interview?

Your input will be greatly appreciated
