Chocks placement during aircraft arrival (Domestic Jet operations)

Hi there. Just wanted to get everybody's opinion on the staging of equipment during aircraft arrival, particularly where no NIGS/ VGDS is available on the Gate. The Equipment Restraint Line is there to protect the aircraft from potential collisions with equipment and for people safety. My question is, if an ERA line borders a clearance zone (red-hatched area next to the airbridge) would you consider this hatched area, which technically sits outside the ERA line, safe for equipment staging, such as aircraft chocks? I know some airlines that do this but would be good to get some perspective.
