Aircraft Turnaround & Flight Operations Management Systems
 
Dear ramp/aircraft dispatchers and ops controllers (responses and opinions are welcome though from other stakeholders)

What is your opinion of the turnaround management systems that are currenlty in use?
Which on is your favorite?
Do they cover the latest a/c turnaround requirements?
What do you think that is currently missing?

You need to explain what you mean by 'Turn around management' system ?

Yes, sure.

A turnaround management system is a system which monitors the aircraft’s turnaround processes on the ground. This processes invlolve the monitoring (but not limited to) of actual a/c rotation times, pax deplan, enplan times, times for cleaning offlaoding/onloading catering, refuelling etc.

I think what's being asked is. . . . Menzies Aviation use a system called RSMS, - Ramp Sheet Management System & for example WFS in Edinburgh use another system that's called I.S. Flights. This is what your meaning isn't it Aias ? ?.

Hi,
Yes part of the questions is to name the systems but particularly to comment on how useful these systems are, how user friendly if they cover the modern job requirements, what is that to your opinion that is missing etc. It is nice to now also if these systems are integrated with other ones i.e. to populate real time info such as ACARS messages pax info etc.

What do you think?

So true. In a lot of cases still the job is done with pen and paper.

Pen, paper and one of those special bendy watched that only dispatchers know where to buy them from.
