I'm wondering how most airlines schedule their flights.

I'm aware most (not all) don't use the same aircraft on a single rotation or series of rotations, for example... LAX-NYC, NYC-LAX, LAX-WAS, WAS-LAX and do this every day.

I don't think they even do this on a 7 day cycle.

I've seen the attached chart and I believe there's logic to say you go from line B to line J for example.

I guess my questions is how do airlines do this with larger fleets?
