options and chances

ive been looking into a career as a dispatcher but have no idea of how to get into the job.
is there any qualifications needed or special licences. im at college at the moment and am wondering what i would need to do next .
also in general is the pay good .

if anyone could point me in the right direction it would be a great help thanks.
