FlightOPS/crew/scheduling software for smaller operators

Colleagues,

Need info on software applications for smaller operators Operations control and Management - flight operations, scheduling, crew rosters, quoting, e.t.c.

Doing research stumbled over Navitaire/Geneva Ops control, but it looks like this if for large operators??

Any advise would help a great deal!!!

Which software are you talking about? We are currently investigating several suppliers, but having a customized package seems to be difficult, if not impossible....

Thanks!

System

Another small/cheaper option would be Acrobatico used by large/small operators. See Acrobatico

Employee Scheduling Software

I suggest you have a look at Saviom employee scheduler (http://www.saviom.com/employee_scheduler.aspx).

Agree with Daft Wader, acrobatico make a good system. Also like SysAIO | AvAIO and TravAIO aviation and travel software | Intelligent Intranet. Leon is basic and works if you have absolutely no money, but not if you can afford a choice.

Employee Scheduling Software

Another option is eResource scheduler. The employee scheduling software offers great features like drag & drop scheduling and timesheet reports. It's easily configurable and ideal example for collaborative software. Take a free trial of 14 days.

though the thread is rather old, still opinions are posted. Thus mine: what about Flight Operations System (FOS)? It is modular and provides easy access to related informations. After short learning, all relevant departments should be able to work with it. http://www.pprune.org/forums/images/...n_rolleyes.gif

Avoid the crap

Some advice before you go selecting one of these packages because there is a lot of crap out there...

Find out if the vendor actually has some clients who are using it and then get in contact with them. Find out what they are using it for and see if there are any similarities between their operation and yours.

If you are going to be the guinea pig for someone else's software then insist on a grace period in which you can opt out of it with no obligation if turns out to be crap.

If your ops is going to be 24/7 then make sure their support is also, put it in the contract and make sure they stick to it. The cowboys will scrimp on service.

You'd be surprised how many of these outfits cut and run as soon as you turn the screws.

If they take days to answer simple questions then beware of that also.

No one says that you have to go with some of the big brand names but don't be afraid to approach them either. Some of them understand that the little guy still contributes to their bottom line and may be willing to tailor their prices to match.

flightOps

Well said D.O.G.

Many of the systems are extremely difficult to get a handle on, if you need to do anything other then standard crew runs, etc, etc. Plus some really need IT support!! I would be extremely careful and ask several other companies if you could actually see the systems in a 'live' situation.

:ok:
