TOM crew...

Flew from Essex at the weekend - was hugely impressed by how we were looked after, just as good as LGW but and not suprisingly, without the 'headless chicken mode'...lots of time for friendly banter...thank you.

16 to Go

Criteria for redundancy
This will be points based with anyone earning more than 10 points going onto the at risk list
smokers---1 point
non smokers---5 points
under 5'6'' in height---3 points
over 13 stone in weight---5 points
card players---2 points

smokers who share their ciggies with management---minus 2 points
card players who lose to management---minus 2 points
smokers who share ciggies AND lose money---bonus!!! minus 4 points
It goes without saying that trainers are exempt from the threat of redundancy as they will be needed to train the new intake!!!
Happy days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

16 to go .....as seen by SAT 1

i don't think they will use that system twice....they tried it when the last lot of blokes went just after they lost Ryanair............it did not work then either.
;););)

if a tree has got no roots...it will fall .....the top does need to worry!!!

You seem a little bitter there spirit of the age, have you been made redundant by them before then? :hmm:

spirit of the age 20th Jul 2009 15:07

Rumours from the shed today suggest all management will keep their jobs and all the stl's will go, the new position of GSO will be a 4 and 2 roster.
Ramp and cargo will remain seperate but help each other out in busy times.
The new HR1 will now be 20 + 4, which will go in on Friday.
My guess on the criteria for the 20 would be, old contracts first, people in the pension scheme 2nd and any team leaders with any sickness record 3rd.
Sat 1 and Spirt of the age, have you both previously worked for Servisair and been made redundant as you both seem to be singing from the same hymm book ?.

STN servisair redundancies

from what i have been hearing swissport have already got rid of a lot of staff at STN............Is it true... that swissport rang servisair a few nights back and asked them if they could offload the thomsonfly and the firstchoice as they had nobody to do it.......SAT1 said they got 100% on there turn round audit a few days ago.....good job they never turned up that night........maybe servisair should start sub letting men out to other handling agents....as well as cargo.
:ok:

gla

I was told at Gla that Serviair are looking for 54 redundances surely that wont leave many staff to cover their flights we have unless they are expecting to loss other contracts sad days ahead:*

GRIZZLER 25th Jul 2009 08:39

GLA

who are looking to lay off men....swissport or servisair???r

glasgow 25th Jul 2009 08:53

We lost the Flybe contract earlier in the summer and some of us could have Tuped over to Alba but the management made a right farse of it. So where we could have carried on in employment it now looks as if we will be out of a job. Does anyone know if we have a claim against the company.

JobCuts

Ones in LPL are purely for proffit not due to loss of flights/contracts!!.They are wondering (management that is) why their staff are voting for industrial action.Workload has gone up by about 35% but want to cut about 23% of workforce figure that one out????????.

backtrack_32 29th Jul 2009 17:32

From what iver heard from a mate at LBA, its very similar that the baggage handlers are under staffed and over worked!

dublindispatch 1st Aug 2009 18:05

and in Dublin S/air are taking over Aviance but some contracts gone to Sky Handling

'maybe servisair should start sub letting men out to other handling agents....as well as cargo.'
Well Grizzler, from what is being "rumoured' that is the way things are going for you boys at servisair.

GRIZZLER 1st Aug 2009 23:29

sub letting men

There is this old saying....many a true word spoke in jest!

its a bit strange that servisair are getting rid of men on one hand and taking work on with the other.

and there is another saying.... biting more off than you can chew!

exloadie 4th Aug 2009 08:04

I hear the result of the ballot for industrial action will be known by the end of the week.Rumour has it any action will be taken within 2 weeks.
