Servisair Uniform

Hello all,

As I have an interest in working at an airport, I was browsing the web looking for information when I came across this forum - very interesting read!

Anyways, I was watching aircraft land / take off today, and noticed the wide variety of uniforms servisair crew (particularly women) had. Could anyone tell me what the current uniform is, and what's with all the different variations?

Thanks

Nikitta

Sorry I must have got the wrong dispatch company!

What is the uniform for Servisair? Who has those lovely long coats with hoods, which the lining is a nice different shade of blue / lilac? They look really good.

I'm not sure how much this helps, but for when you start working for Penauille Servisair (to give you our full name since January 2006) I've enclosed the uniform items that you're provided with;

Navy blue skirt or trousers, choice of long or short sleeved white shirts, a navy blue jacket (the current ones have Servisair/GlobeGround branding stitched onto the pockets), a navy blue jumper, a blue and yellow striped neck scarf or tie (again this is Servisair/GlobeGround branded), a winter coat (as you described, it's full length with a hood), a hi-viz jacket, scarf, lanyard and women are provided with handbags.

Rumours are going around that as part of the rebranding from Servisair/GlobeGround to Penauille Servisair, that next year we might be getting a brand new or altered uniform. The problem is the current ones will only be three years old, and as a result the cost may be too much to justify altering the uniform simply because of a name change.

There is a really small picture of the Servisair uniforms on the "Join Us" page of the Penauille Servisair website. All the pictures on Google are of the awful old uniforms, and I couldn't really see any others.

Thanks Lite for the information about what you're provided with when you start. Is the uniform free, or is there a Ryanair-like set up?

Very interesting to see that there might be a new uniform. I did notice that the colours of the uniform don't match those of the corporate branding, but that's me looking out for these things, I doubt most passengers would.

Thanks for the list of items given to staff - are the same items given to dispatchers, check in staff etc, and what are the variations for males?

Also is the winter coat only to be worn during certain months in winter, or can it be worn anytime?

sweety, I'm surprised you're having problems trying to get a hi-viz. Our only problem has been we got a bulk load in when the company's name was "Servisair GlobeGround" so everybody has one, but there's a lot floating about with old branding, though this seems to be a problem with everything down to the GSE. I agree with your idea that we may end up simply changing the shirts and the ties/scarves/scrunchies, and hopefully to get some brand consistency they could do that sooner rather than later, even if it was just changing the lettering to "Penauille Servisair" and replacing the gold with light blue.

Nikkita, I included men in the list of basic items that you're given, except they obviously don't get the option of a neck scarf or wearing a skirt! The coats are only given out to staff if they're still with the company at the beginning of the winter season (October) but as far as I'm aware, there's no rule about wearing them in other months.

Thanks Lite for the information. I'm interested in working in an airport, but only part time job to supplement my full time job.

As my hours in my full time job are consistent daytimes each week, would Servisair (or any other ground handling company for that matter) be interested in me? I looked on Penauille Servisair's website for jobs and all are requesting flexibility in shifts.

I'm willing to work evenings, weekends and also nights, just not days during the week if you know what I mean! I just want some experience working in airports!

In true Servisair style, I've found out it's one thing for the French, and something else for the rest of the company. I had a look through an old copy of Take Off (the Servisair newsletter for those not in the know) and it said that in accordance with the company's brand new identity, Penauille Servisair, that the company was implementing updated uniforms. The company was unveiling new lanyards and name badges with the Penauille Servisair branding, which was supposed to have been completed by the beginning of the summer season 2006, and at my base this is the case. Elsewhere, it said the company was replacing women's blouses in the close future, but that from the beginning of this year new scrunchies, neck-scarves and ties were to be available. They're the same as the Servisair Globeground ones, but come in light blue instead of gold.
