Airport/Airline Security

Hi all,
As those with a military background might guess from my username, I am in the Military and carryout work that is centred around with aircraft/airfield security.
Are there any security professionals who post on this website?
If so, I have begun the long run into leaving the Services. As I sit here wondering what the hell I will do when I become a civilian, I thought it would be worth investigating what options there are for me within the civilian airline industry (seemed a logical step given my background).
I am considering working at the middle management level, not security guarding (I am a Commisioned Officer with over 10 years experience in Military Airfield Security)
Can anyone offer me any advice?
Is there anything I can do to better prepare myself for leaving the services and getting into this line of work?
Are there any companies/POCs that might be useful to begin making enquires?
Feel free to PM me rather than posting on this open forum.
Any information would be most useful.

Hello cockneyrock, we'll leave your thread here for the moment see what interest you receive. If you don't get much response we might move it over to Flight Operations, Crewing and Dispatch Forum.
cheers

Why not try the Control Risks or CR24 Website and forward them your CV. G4S are also big in airport/airline security you could try them, or consider undertaking the DFT aviation secuirty course Level 3 at Shrivenham and going solo?

To those who have responded so far, including those that sent me a PM, thank you.
I wanted to take this opportunity to clafiry a few points. I am scoping my options for the next 5 years at the end of which I will be leaving the military as the attraction of have my 'pink bits' shot off is wearing thin now that I have a family. Therefore, I am not interested in leaving the military to join a civilian organisation and go back to places that I have already seen enough of. Thanks all the same but no amount of money would want me to do that kind of work.
What I am really interested in is how I can transfer my experience and management skills across to the civil sector. During my time I have worked in military HQs as a security advisor and also had responsibility for upto 160 security specialists. Clearly I am not looking to work as and airport security officer manning an X-Ray machine. A number of suggestions have been made regarding companies that provide airport security, however, do airports employ their own security specialist eg someone who goes out to find the subcontractor who will provide the service? I am really looking at getting into the consulting business, be that in aviation security or general 'coporate security', however, I appreciate that I will have to 'start lower down the ladder' so to speak.
I am currently doing a Dip in Security Management which I should finish sometime next year with the option of turning it into a MA. I was wondering what else I could do to ensure that I was employable when I left.
Thanks again for your advice. Any more advice that anyone has in light of what I have written above would be appreciated.
