A choice between Despatch and Crewing

Hi all,

I was wondering if I could get some opinions...

I'm an OAT grad about to start despatch at MAN, however an airline has just got in contact with me inviting me to interview for Crewing.

Which is better? I quite fancy despatch, but it would be good to work for an airline.

Cheers,

HS

There's a world of difference between dispatch and crewing.
As a crewing bod you have to be very people orientated.
With aircrew, you have to be sympathetic, understanding, a good listener and be aware that
your desicions directly affect their lives.
As with dispatch there is a great deal of pressure to deliver workable solutions whilst
under a great deal of pressure, not to mention the legal aspects of your actions!
Either way, why not ask to 'sit in' for a couple of days on each side of the business.
At least that way you may get a clearer idea of where you want your career to go.
Best of luck. :ok: :ok:

Thanks JBF,

My problem to a certain extent is I don't know how long I'm going to be in eaither job, my ultimate goal being a flight deck position. I know cadets are currently working for this airline so I know they have a long sighted approach to taking on people like myself. It may be worth my while just taking the easy option and staying in despatch until something came up flying wise, but there is always the possibility of moving through the airline.

What to do.... what do to.

Cheers,

HS
