Chocking Nightstop Aircraft.

Just a quick query to find out how many chocks should be put on a nightstop aircraft? For example for each of B738, A320 and a DHC4 what would be recommended? Cheers for any suggestions.

Front and back on the mains...nose wheel as well if you have a high wind warning....never lost one yet.

Cheers guys, thanks for your replies. I've always done two on the nose and two on the main as you suggest but at the airport I work at we've been told we now have to stick 12 (yes TWELVE) chocks on all nightstopping a/c, even in calm conditions! Just wondered what the rest of the aviation world did... And Grizzler, glad you haven't lost one yet as imagine the boss's mood if they came in one morning to find a raydome stuck in the terminal!

12 CHOCKS!!!!!.........The only airline I have known to use that many chocks is UPS.....Then again they seem to be overkill at everything.

Where I work it's down to the airline. The US carriers always go over the top

You want to try Quanta's on the A380 , about 20 give or take on the availability of chocks , and i ain't talking about the small type either ........

For the airline I work for (all 737NGs) we put chocks nose front and back, and front and back captain's side at all times, front and back on FO side for high winds.

always check aircraft type

always check with aircraft makers type and ensure you use correct type/size of chox...
quotes of saying never lost one yet!(theres always a first if you do not go by company requirements)..
