I am a froggy working with Malaysian Flying Academy. I don't know the salary that you can expect but I want underline that cost of life is very cheap in Malaysia and that in fact you can live very correctly with a salary half of Europe with a better quality of life.
Good luck

last i heard it was around RM15000, which is in the region of 4000 USD, but you can live like a king on these salaries there.

MAS employ expats when they NEED them. Don't count on ANY security.
Contractors have been the go for the last 7-8 years and contracts have been cut short(tidal waves, earthquakes, any excuse)and they are used to it..
Great place to live if you are based at SZB not KUL.
Rates have been about mid to late 30's in USD tax free and minimum hrs 162. O/T is at same rate.
There is one contracting company to avoid if you want to get paid and not f'd around but you will quickly find out which one if you talk to someone there. The RAAF have a saying that mentions them.
EPF is very good if you can get into it.Bonus's may be paid to all bar you also.
Good luck.
