Compass compensation/swinging

Can anyone please tell me which CAAIP contains recommended procedures for compass swinging/compensation. Many thanks

CAP 562 Part 8 - Aircraft Instruments Leaflet 8-2.

Don't forget to survey the base first - Leaflet 8-1 refers ;)

ASFKAP,

I'd love a copy of that program. If possible, could you email it to [email protected].

Thanks.:D

Save the pooter-prog until after you've got the ticket, Sparkie - they won't let you use it in the exam. Better do lots of practice at imaginary compass swings with a pencil and paper, until you can do them in your sleep :)

well said black sheep
Had a couple of odd swings in my time. and i dont think a program will show faults like your fitter having a magnetic screw driver in his pocket when he went to do the adjustment on a wing tip flux valve.
or a steel screw fitted to one side of an E2B mounting .
Sorry to say the modern big aircraft dont seem to nead them very often, pity really they where good days and nice earners.:=
