bonded!
today i just signed a bond for a jar 66 course with my airline.it lasts for 2 years, amounts to 5000 euro and does not depreciate over the two years.also if i do not get full cover on the a/c type within a year the option is there for them to collect the cost of the course from me.is the the industry norm?

Bond
Yup, thats about normal,
although the bit about 'full cover' on type is a bit rich,IMHO, as whether or not you get the crs auth's is down to company quality department. |
No, ours go down pro-rata, over 24 months.
I believe some bonds only start going down once you get the autorisation and not just at the end of the course. :{ |
Just an Avitation Thang?
Is bonding after courses/training mainly an aviation industry thing? I'd never heard of it in apprnticeships and training courses outside. Now I'm working in this game I hear it more and more. I assume it's purely for companies to make a return on forking out for the expense of type courses.

My company doesn't bond for courses, although my previous one did if you had less than 5 years service.

THE POINT IS UNDER THE HUMAN RIGHTS ACT IS IT LEGAL TO "BOND" A PRSON SOUNDS LIKE SLAVE LABOUR. MIND YOU THAT WHAT I FEEL LIKE SOME TIMES.I WOUNDER WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF A BONDED PERSON SAID NO I AM NOT PAYING SEE YOU IN COURT. AS THE COMPANY CAN NOT OPERATE WITHOUT HAVING US LICENCED GUYS THE TRAINING IS FOR THEIR GAIN. I HAVE WORKED FOR COMPANY WHO HATED THE FACT THAT HE HAD TO HAVE US OVER PAID GUYS HA HA THAT HE COULD NOT SACK ON A WHIM AS HE WOULD HAVE TO SHUT DOWN IT USED TO DO HIS HEAD IN.
THE POINT IS IF COMPANYS DID NOT TAKE IN PEOPLE WHO HAVE JUST FINISHED A COURSE THEN THEY WOULD NOT HAVE TO BOND. THEY ALL HATE TRAINING AS THEY THINK IT IS SOME OTHER COMPANYS JOB TO TRAIN. LAST POINT IF YOU THINK TRAINING COST MONEY SEE HOW MUCH THE F*** UP'S COST. |
