A320 Thrust Lever Friction
 

Does anyone know if it is possible to adjust the friction for the thrust levers? If so, how is it done!

Unfortunately I don't have access to an A320 AMM, so any help would be appreciated.

Yes you can there is an adjustment screw on the Thrust Lever Artificial Feel Unit access is gained through the Fwd Avionics Hatch

I don't know which one of you is worse, Regor for asking or Mech for answering. What now ? are you going to wander in there with a screwdriver and adjust it ?

You shouldn't be performing any maintenance on any a/c without the M.M.
I have access to the 320 MM and have just had a look, there are very specific figures for "throttle lever load measure". I'm not even going to give you the figures because I don't know the effectivity of your a/c.
If for no other reason, other than covering your own @r5e, not to mention being a bit professional, always refer to the MM.
The reference you require is 76-11-17-400-041 F (Adjustment of the Artificial Feel Unit)

It is extremely ironic, wouldn't you agree that a bloke with your alias should lecture someone about the use of the AMM, or didn't they teach you that in werft 3.
So lighten up, and just answer the f&/(ing question if you know the answer, who knows maybe you too will be profesional enough to ask someones advice someday.

Why don't we just do away with the MM altogether then and just discuss all our problems on an anonimous forum so that every tom, dick and efin harry can tell us how to perform maintenance !

Agree with you totally near enuf. Who knows it's probably a pilot asking the question.They seem to know everything else about the aircraft.

Perhaps I should have stated that I am a Sim' Engineer, and need this information to adjust the thrust lever assembly on a full flight simulator. The assembly is an Airbus part, as fitted in the aircraft, hence my enquiry.

near enuf - Even on a simulator, I wouldn't be stupid enough to just tweak something without reference, I merely wanted to establish if such a task was possible. Now that I know it is possible, I can broaden my research. Thanks for the AMM reference anyway.

Unfortunately, those of us who work on the 'fringe' of aviation engineering don't have access to the same level of resources as those on the line.
