Maintenance Programs

I'm needing some help regarding computer maintenance programs. I have just began working at a new company and they require a suitable computer program that deals with inventory and aircraft tracking. I was using an Australian program called XTS and found this to be very good.
If any body knows where i can get this program or get another good one from it would be most appreciated.
Cheers

Try this

The main decision when looking at a new software application is whether you want to find one that can work with your existing system or whether you want to start off with totally new system.
Many software companies are able to work with legacy system integration and connects to your existing system. No multiple re-entry is required and the systems communicate with each other.
Some of these are really neat stuff. For example the A&P (your LAME) is able to view maintenance manuals and parts books electronically and place orders. He or she also logs in the time a certain job starts and logs off when it is done and you would know the time spend on certain jobs. Some can get really fancy with hand held devices so the AME can have access to information without leaving the A/C . In fact, they are working on voice recognition technology and speech to voice synthesis so the mechanic (sorry the engineer) could give verbal command for the system to go and get the tech manual, bring it up, and have the section read to them while they have their hands on the job.

Easy Mate. How is the aviation doing down their?? CASA still trying to catch up with rest of the word and making it tough for the smaller operators???
Aviation is a funny career. Every country has its own thing. I leaned that the hard way when I was in Australia. After converting my ATP to CASA ATPL I still had every door shut in my face Also unable to convert my A&P/IA to LAME. CASA wants you to do it all over again and without it the best you can do is compete with apprentices which work for almost free and not to mention no Yankees allowed !! I aint no Yankee but I am a American who tried to give it a go down their for the sake of my wife. Now back in US I have so much work I don't know what to do with. Oh well.
Sorry about the winning. Got some cheese???

By the way the info I have given you is referenced from AMT magazine which you can access on line.

USA no doubt. I like Australia and if something would have worked for me there I would have stayed in Melbourne specially that my wife is Australian. But a man has to work and feel worthwhile.

We are just implementing new software, few things you have to consider are how much you want to pay? and what you really want the system to do?

Sit down with your stores guys, qa and your shop floor guys and find out what they want. Also depends if you are an operator or a facility doing third party work. Third party work you might need more of a system to cope with recording man hours worked (bar codes) and billing etc. As an operator you will probably want something fully integrated between your stores, tech records etc.

I know Virgin Blue over in BNE are running Trax which is an expensive but very powerful software. The one we have adopted is Russell-Adams, UK based but widely used around the world and I think just got their first customer in Oz. Locally in Oz you have Daniels which is Adelaide based I think, simple dos program but pretty capable, been around a long time.

Good luck -

Schreiner Airways in Holland have the most user friendly system I have ever worked with. Even I could use it which speaks volumes.
You could give them a call. Usually v helpfull and friendly.
