Bootstrap gear broke changing a CF6 on a CX 747-200F, engine swang and hit a HAECO engineer, no one was badly hurt (no broken bones etc) but HAECO guy had a gashed leg that required stitches.

KLM came in with special lifting gear because the lug the bootstap gear attaches too was bent and couldn't be used, KLM's gear uses a crane. Very impressive, I'm told. :D

sounds like he was lucky
from what i remember you have to keep those bootstraps level and not unbalance the load cells
does that sound like what happened here or just bad luck
what was a haeco guy there for...inspector??

No, it was equipment failure.

The Haeco chaps were carrying out the engine change. Apparently they wanted to use BA's hangar but were politely informed that it is mothballed and no amount of cash would get the doors open.

The ambulance took about 15mins to turn up too. The poor sod was flat out in a pool of rain water as the heavens opened on him!!
