Licence question
I'm in the process of doing my Part 66 B1 module exams and soon will have the full set. I won't have sufficient hands-on experience to put towards the full licence but my question is, can I apply to the CAA for any form of licence based on just the completion of the exams?

No.
Just for interest, have you done Module 10 yet? Especially 10.2? I can recommend a good read of Part 66.A.30 if you are not familiar with it. |
It Depends....
The B1 category licence also includes the A licence by default. If you have sufficient hands on experience to cover the A licence requirements then the CAA have granted people A licences on completion of all the B1 modules.
I know several people who have done this whilst completing the last of their 5 years experience requirement for the B1.1. Every day is a learning day.;) |
If you have enough PART 145 experince for an A licence, you can apply for that with the B1 module certs..

Thanks all, even Capot ;) I pretty much thought that was the case, the old suspended licence thing no longer exists but some people who should know better told me it did.
Onwards and upwards :) Further question for anyone with the info to hand, slight change of subject. What do you understand by a "B Amendment", is it laid down anywhere what this constitutes and similarly is there such a thing as an "A Amendment"? |
You are right, it was an ungracious response! And unhelpful, as the others showed. I read "I won't have sufficient hands-on experience" as "I have no hands-on experience" which is not what you meant.
Good luck! |
