Qatar Airways

With all the adverisements in Flight International for jobs with Qatar Airways, due ongoing expansion, I would be interested to hear from anyone who works there or has some accurate information.

What are they like to work for?

What are the terms & conditions like?

What is the housing & life in Doha like?

I have been thinking about applying but don't know anything or anyone down there.

Thanks

Not sure what they are like now, but I did a stint there in 1998 and they had problems keeping staff due to salaries and conditions. (Thats why I did not stay!)

I did hear that the Eng Manager just left, Tom Botha, who was a good guy, so goodness knows what is going on there now. From what I recall, they did fly you out there for an interview and a look around.

Accomodation was not bad, Doha a very quiet place and a bit of a construction site as they start to redevelop the place. But a good expat community and plenty of stuff going on family wise.

Good luck

Thanks for the info.
Does anyone have current info on what it's like after all the mamagement changes & plans for expansion? I would like to thing that they would be paying a reasonible salary if they want to attract the right people to help with the planned growth.

Any info good or bad appreciated. Still not heard anything back but a long wait seems to be the norm when applying for jobs in that part of the world.
