Resource Group in association with Bond Air Services at Staverton Airport are looking for enthusiastic, committed and ambitious individuals who wish to be considered for an

Advanced Apprenticeship in Aeronautical Engineering

Initial 2 year contract comprises an 8 month, full time training programme, delivered at LRTT Ltd in Gloucestershire starting on 3rd September 2012.
Bond Air Services are the UK’s leading helicopters services provider operating a fleet a 26 twin engine aircraft across the UK and Ireland. Bond’s operations include Emergency Medical Services, Police Air Support, Oil & Gas Crew Change Operations, Offshore Wind Farm Support and Marine and Light House Services.
The training programme will be followed by a 16 month (approx) work placement at Bond Air Services Staverton Airport with excellent prospects for full employment at the end of the placement.
At the end of the programme, candidates can expect to achieve:
·EASA Part 66 Category A Licence (Maintenance Certifying Mechanic)
·Level 3 NVQ Extended Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering 1789-32
·City and Guilds 2675 Diploma for On-Aircraft Maintenance (CAT A)
·Functional Skills – Maths / English / ICT
·Wider Key Skills – Working With Others / Improving Own Learning
Minimum pre-requisites: 5 GCSEs Graded A to C to include Maths, English and Science. Candidates must be prepared to work hard, be enthusiastic about engineering and have a desire to work in aviation.

Hi Salusa - not sure what you mean by P2E? The apprentices will be employed and paid during their apprenticeship and there will be no contribution expected of them. There is also every chance they will be kept on after their apprenticeship by the placement company.

Looks like an excellent opportunity. Hopefully pay in their respective futures will be commensurate for the responsibility taken on. The aviation industry needs a lot more apprentices. Not just to train them, but to retain them when other industries pay more and expect less from the individuals.
